JazzFresno presents saxophonist Loren Pickford, in a rare return visit to his hometown of Fresno, in concert Friday December 11th at the Club One Showroom. Joining Loren for this special event will be David Aus (piano); Kevin Hill (bass) and Gary Newmark (drums). For over 30 years, Loren was one of the most respected and influential jazz artists in Fresno. In the early 1990′s he relocated to New Orleans, and has lived since 2005 in Kansas City, after fleeing Hurricane Katrina. This is his first Fresno performance in over two years.

In addition to his concert performance, Loren will also be the subject of a free Conversation With the Artist – Wednesday December 9th, 2009 at the Downtown Fresno Central Library at 7:00 PM. Joe Moore will host an open discussion with Loren, which will culminate in a duo performance with pianist David Aus.
